Grade 5

Mr. Dahlstrom

This is my 14th year teaching in Naperville.  I was one of the original 5th grade Dual Language teachers when the first group of students in Dual Language reached this grade level.  I continue to enjoy developing lessons for my students and seeing them grow as learners.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy growing fruit trees, reading, and spending time with my wife and two daughters.

Mrs. Malikowski

I am looking forward to my first year at River Woods! I am going into my 4th year of teaching. Prior to coming to River Woods, I spent 3 years teaching 5th grade at Highlands Elementary School. I grew up in Brookfield (not far from the zoo) where I lived with my parents and my 3 siblings (including a twin brother). In 2023, I graduated from the University of Iowa where I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. I am currently back in school getting my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Olivet Nazarene. In my free time, you will find me spending time with family, on the softball field, or watching football and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Philadelphia Eagles!

Mrs. Mask

This will be my 13th year at River Woods and my 18th year of teaching (I taught for 5 years in Colorado). I grew up on a lake in Indiana and attended Purdue University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in genetics. Post graduation, I worked in a Pediatric Infectious Disease lab at both Loyola University and Northwestern University where I decided to return to school to become a teacher. I enjoy teaching all subjects, especially science, and I love discussing books with students. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my three children, my husband, and our dog. We have boy/girl twins who will be seniors in college this year (CRAZY!) and our youngest will be a freshman in college. We love to travel, hike, bike, and watch movies together.

Mrs. Metoyer

Hi, I am one out of 3 sisters and one brother. I am the second oldest. I was born and raised in Brookfield, IL. I played softball as a child up to my sophomore year in high school when I broke my finger. This will be my 28th year teaching. I have taught 6th, 4th, Kindergarten and 5th grades. Besides Naperville, I taught in Cicero and Plainfield IL. This is my 21th year teaching at River Woods.
