Mr. Dahlstrom

This is my 13th year teaching in Naperville.  I was one of the original 5th grade Dual Language teachers when the first group of students in Dual Language reached this grade level.  I continue to enjoy developing lessons for my students and seeing them grow as learners.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy growing fruit trees, reading, and spending time with my wife and two daughters.

This is going to be my 12th year at River Woods and my 17th year of teaching. I have a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from Purdue University, my teaching certification from Loyola University Chicago, and my masters degree in Educational Technology with Curriculum Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. I enjoy teaching all subjects, science is my passion, and I sharing my love of books with kids. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my three children, my husband, and our dog. We have boy/girl twins who will be juniors in college this year and our youngest will be a senior at Naperville Central. We love to travel, hike, bike, and watch movies together.

Mrs. Matteson

Neighboring Wheaton is my hometown.  After earning my bachelor’s degree, I got a master’s degree in Reading, and another in Leadership and Administration.  In my 35-year career, I’ve taught Kindergarten, first grade, K-1 Multiage, second grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, and 4-5 Multiage, in both urban and suburban districts.  Every year has been a new adventure, which is why I find teaching so exciting.

Hi, I am one out of 3 sisters and one brother. I am the second oldest. I was born and raised in Brookfield, IL. I played softball as a child up to my sophomore year in high school when I broke my finger. This will be my 28th year teaching. I have taught 6th, 4th, Kindergarten and 5th grades. Besides Naperville, I taught in Cicero and Plainfield IL. This is my 21th year teaching at River Woods.
